Eugene Junior Orchestra

Eugene Junior Orchestra, a full symphonic ensemble, presents its own series of concerts and at the same time functions as a training group for the Eugene Youth Symphony. Membership is open by annual audition in the spring to all qualified musicians. Most members of the EJO are in grades 6-10. Older students are auditioned when the conductor determines that it is in the best interest of the orchestra. Rehearsals will be held Monday evenings at Roosevelt Middle School from 6:45 to 8:45 pm and is conducted by David Chinburg.The Junior Orchestra participation fee is $370. Assistance with the participation fee is available.

(note: membership determined by an annual audition)

Auditions for the 2008-2009 orchestra will be held June 16th & 17th for string instruments and June 18th for woodwinds,brass and percussion. For more information please visit the "Audition" portion of this website. To schedule an audition time call 484-0473 (Arts Umbrella office) after May 26th.

Very Important! Make sure you understand the commitment you are making. Attendance requirements will be strictly enforced.

Important! All members of the Eugene Junior Orchestra are expected to play the instrument they play in their Arts Umbrella ensemble in a band or orchestra at their school. School band and orchestra teachers will be contacted to verify participation in a school group. A very limited number waiver options are available.
