The String Academy 2 provides orchestral instruction and performance opportunities to students who play the violin, viola, cello or string bass. String specialist Ruth Root leads the class that meets Monday afternoons between 4:30 and 6:00 p.m. at the Dunn Center located at 3411 Willamette Street in Eugene.The participation fee for String Academy 2 is $270. Assistance with participation fees is available.

Very Important! Make sure you understand the commitment you are making. Attendance requirements will be strictly enforced.
Important! All members of String Academy 2 are expected to play the instrument they play in their Arts Umbrella ensemble in a band or orchestra at their school. School band and orchestra teachers will be contacted to verify participation in a school group. A very limited number waiver options are available. Please call Richard Long, the Arts Umbrella Program Director, if you have any questions regarding this policy.
